Episode 2 of 26

Jim McColl sets up a new hot bed and also demonstrates how to deal with overwintered begonia tubers to bring them into growth for this year.

Jim McColl is setting up a new hot bed in which he plans to grow a range of mini vegetables. He also demonstrates how to deal with overwintered begonia tubers to bring them into growth for this year.

Meanwhile, Carole Baxter is sowing perennial wildflower seeds, and George Anderson is hoping to have another shot at growing show vegetables in Beechgrove after the last two years of competing (and being beaten). This week George is starting off his 'prize-winning' leeks.

Chris Beardshaw was supposed to be creating a new herbaceous border in the garden, but all plans have been put on ice. Instead, he heads to Crathes Castle garden near Banchory, Aberdeenshire, where the snow allows Chris to appreciate the garden for its form, structure and design.
