Jonathan Edwards presents live coverage of the fifth edition of the Great City Games from Deansgate in the heart of Manchester.

For the first time this year both Olympic and Paralympic champions will race along the purpose-built 200m track in the city centre, while the city's Albert Square plays host to the elite pole vault and long jump competitions.

Usain Bolt was roared on by 20,000 fans as he set a new world record over 150m in 2009. This year, France's European 100m champion Christophe Lemaitre heads the strong field in the event, with Olympic 100m champion Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce headlining the women's race. British hurdling duo Andy Turner and Perri Shakes-Drayton are also in track action.

Britain's Jonnie Peacock will be the first Paralympic gold medallist to take to the CityGames track when he lines up in the IPC 100m, and Brazil's Paralympic star Alan Oliveira will head the field in the IPC 200m.

In the 200m hurdles, Olympic 400h Champion Felix Sanchez will face competition from, amongst others Britain's Andy Turner; while the women's 200 metre hurdles will see the Olympic 400 metre hurdle champion Russia's Natalya Antyluk take on Britain's Perry Shakes-Drayton, fresh from an impressive indoor season that saw her take the European 400 metres title.

All eyes in Albert Square will be on Britain's Olympic long jump gold medallist Greg Rutherford. Britain's Stefanie Reid takes on Australia's Kelly Cartwright, the athlete who beat her to gold in London last summer, in the women's IPC long jump competition.

Expert analysis comes from Colin Jackson and Denise Lewis; commentary comes from Steve Cram and Paul Dickenson with Phil Jones reporting from trackside.
