Ashley has a dilemma - she is pregnant with her second baby but a very difficult first birth has left her terrified of what could happen this time. Ann Marie MacLean lives in Barra but has come to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to have her second baby. Her first child was born by Caesarean section and she is desperately hoping to avoid another one. Lochaber midwife, Catherine MacDonald has a two hour drive to visit mum to be Katie in Kilchoan in Ardnamurchan. Katie is having her first baby and would like a water birth in the Midwifery led Unit in Fort William using her homeopathic remedies to help her through her labour. In Nairn community midwife Effie Rowan calls on new mum Kayleigh and baby Theo for the last time while in Inverness, Health visitor Toni visits little Ishbel for an important developmental check.
