In the semi-final, American Hampton took three hours to defeat former champion Caroline Wozniacki and earn her place in the final. She meets Vesnina after the Russian beat Yanina Wickmayer in a one-sided encounter.
The tournament always attracts a top-class field as players look to fine tune their grass court game ahead of Wimbledon. Last year's title was won by Tamira Paszek, but she has some way to go to catch the legendary Martina Navratilova, who was an 11-time winner at Eastbourne.
