Edgar Wright

Edgar Wright, director of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, picks the music and tries his hand at being a DJ!

To help celebrate Radio 1鈥檚 Movie鈥檚 Week writer/director Edgar Wright takes over My Playlist this week.

He鈥檚 the guy who wrote and directed Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and the new film The Worlds End. He plays us a load of music that has helped inspire his films including Primal Scream, the Shirley Bassey song Public Enemy sampled, the secret cover which The Happy Mondays used, Daft Punk and more.

He talks about how he uses music in films, including *THAT* Queen song in Shaun Of The Dead, imagines he is Bruno Brooks presenting the charts, speaks about how Grimmy helped him while filming The Worlds End by providing the soundtrack to his morning.

He also gives some great advice for any young aspiring directors (he got into directing by winning a competition Going Live), talks about the sequel he鈥檒l never make for Shaun Of The Dead called From Dusk Till Shaun and answers loads of listener questions.
