Interviews & Performances

The Celtic Tenors

Three tenors, one voice, The Celtic Tenors have been singing together for over 12 years, and offer a whole lot more than just beautiful voices and music knowledge.听听 With a polished international reputation and just over a million album sales, The Celtic Tenors offer something truly unique.

Individually known as James Nelson, Mathew Gilsenan and Daryl Simpson, The Celtic Tenors are comfortable in all genres; ranging from Irish folk to pop, and have broken new ground by stepping away from their classical roots and adding more of a contemporary edge.听听 With this comes a wider audience and invigorating style which has won them both critical acclaim and many fans over the world.

The Celtic Tenors have achieved Top Ten US and Canada Billboard Chart positions, three platinum selling albums, Number 1 positions in Germany and Ireland, Number 2 in the UK charts, and have even performed for world leaders including Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan.

础苍煤苍补

础苍煤苍补 was formed in 1987 by Michael McGlynn who writes and arranges the material for the group. 础苍煤苍补 sing unaccompanied and without conductor, with between twelve and fourteen singers in any performance.

Much of the group's repertoire explores the relationship between traditional choral ideas in combination with the musical heritage of Ireland. The choir's name, originally An Uaithne, derives from the collective term for the three ancient types of Irish music, Suantra铆 (lullaby), Geantra铆 (happy song) and Goltra铆 (lament). 础苍煤苍补 have released sixteen albums since 1991 and their albums have featured in various charts all over the world.
