Stonyhurst College

Jan Graffius is the curator of collections at Stonyhurst College and travels the world conserving and caring for sacred relics. Stonyhurst College itself, as an historic Catholic school, holds a very important collection of relics, many of which give very graphic insights into the persecutions suffered by Catholics during the Reformation in England, and the risks many took to practice their faith.

Blackburn Foodbank

Ros Duerden is the founder and manager of Blackburn Food bank. The idea was first suggested to her by someone she was interviewing as a candidate to be the next vicar of her church. He got the job, but Ros ignored his advice for the next 2 years. Eventually she decided to advertise a meeting to see if there was any local interest in running a food bank. When 75 people turned up, including local care professionals who had been unofficially putting together food parcels for their clients in crisis, Ros took it as a mandate to get things going. The project opened in November 2012 and has been feeding hundreds of people every month. Although the bank is supported by people of many faiths and none, for Ros it is simply putting her Christian faith into action.

Interfaith Pilgrimage

Bea Foster has worked as a youth worker for her whole life, most recently in her native Burnley. Bea has been working tirelessly since some disturbances in Burnley in 2001, trying to make the town better by building bridges between communities. Earlier this year this included a ground-breaking pilgrimage of 11 Muslim and 11 Christian women to the Holy Land.

Asian Christian Fellowship

Victor Sohail moved to the UK in the 1990's, becoming part of one of the UK's largest communities of Asian Christians. While Victor and his fellow Christians are integrated into the churches of the area, they also enjoy meeting each week to worship and pray in their traditional language, Urdu.

Performances

Carleen Anderson

Carleen Anderson began singing in her grandfather's church in Houston, Texas, aged three. She has gone on to have an illustrious career in music, crossing boundaries between gospel, soul and jazz. The song she sings in the programme, Salvation is free, is her own composition. She currently lives in the U.K. and you can find out more about her at her website: .

Tessera

Tessera means 鈥榝our鈥� in Greek. The four guys who comprise the soulful gospel quartet Tessera are Ken Burton -Musical Director/Baritone, Paul Boldeau 鈥� Tenor, Robert Carr- Tenor, Paul Lee 鈥� Tenor.

The group made its very first appearance on UK television and was an instant hit with viewers both in the UK and Australia.

Louisa Stirland

Louisa Jane Stirland, from Preston, won the prestigious 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year competition in 2012. She is one of the choristers at Blackburn Cathedral.
