Professor Carl Lygo is the Vice Chancellor of BPP University and Chief Executive Officer of BPP Professional Education Group, Europe's leading private provider of professional training and higher education.  BPP University for the Professions operates four Schools: Business School, Law School, School of Health and a School of Foundation & English Language Studies. BPP Learning Media also publishes textbooks and learning materials in 186 countries. BPP University was granted degree awarding powers in 2007, University College status in 2010 and University status in 2013. 

Carl, a qualified Barrister with 22 years call, has also lectured in law at London Guildhall, Leeds, City and East Anglia universities. Former appointments included special education advisor to the Judicial Studies Board by the Lord Chief Justice, and member of the medical regulatory body for the Secretary of State for Education.  He is a member of the Department of BIS Committee on International Education.

Professor Alison Wolf

Alison Wolf is the Sir Roy Griffiths Professor of Public Sector Management at King’s College London, and director of its International Centre for University Policy Research. 

She writes widely for the national press, and has worked as a policy analyst and academic in both the UK and the USA, and as an adviser to the British House of Commons Education Committee.  

In  2011 she completed a major governmental review of vocational education for 14-19 year olds (‘The Wolf Review’) whose recommendations are being implemented in full, and was awarded a CBE for services to education. She has recently published The XX Factor: How the Rise of Working Women Has Created a Far Less Equal World.

Nicola Dandridge became Chief Executive of Universities UK in September 2009. Universities UK is the representative organisation for the UK’s universities. Its members are the executive heads (vice-chancellors/principals) of each UK institution that has the legal power to award its own first and higher degrees and which has the right to claim university status.

Founded in 1918, its mission is to be the definitive voice for all universities in the UK.

Nicola was previously Chief Executive of the higher education agency the Equality Challenge Unit. Before joining the Equality Challenge Unit, she was a lawyer, qualified in both England and Scotland and working in private practice.

Simon Nelson was an early pioneer in taking media brands and content online. Joining the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú in 1997, he became Head of Strategy for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio in 1998. He went on to set up and manage all digital activities for Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Radio & Music, where he launched its world-leading podcast service in 2005 as well as the Radio Player. He then moved to head up all digital activities for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú’s television divisions where he helped launch the iPlayer and built an award winning portfolio of online and cross platform services.

Since leaving the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, he has led a number of projects in TV, radio and publishing sectors for companies including Random House, UKTV, Specific Media and New York Public Radio. He currently oversees digital activities for Phaidon Press and Lime Pictures, roles he will retain whilst joining FutureLearn Ltd as Launch CEO.
