Springhill is the place to be on the Sunday where there’ll be everything from scarecrow trails to homemade jam as part of the County Fair. People will also get the chance to have a look around Springhill House. Claire Donnelly is the Visitors Services Manager and she’ll tell us what’s on and Sophie Atkinson is a warden who’ll be manning the allotments.ÌýÌý

The Springhill Harvest and Country Fair will be on Sunday between 1 and 5pm. Normal admission, National Trust members free.

Innisfree Farm in Bushmills plays host to Northern Ireland’s first ever potato festival. The weekend long event will celebrate our favourite food crop and there’ll be tours, talks, exhibitors and demonstrations. We’ll be joined by Maurice McHenry, the chair of the Potato Festival committee and Ballycastle farmer Adrian Jameson.

The event is on from Friday 4th – Sunday 6th October in various locations including Portnagree House / Ferry Terminal, Ballycastle Portnagree House / Ferry Terminal, Ballycastlethe Glens of Antrim, Innisfree Farm, Giants Causeway and Portnagree House, Ballycastle.

The shores of Strangford Lough will attract thousands of visitors over the next few weeks, Brent Geese, travelling thousands of miles to get here. They’ll make the amazing journey from the Canadian Artic and some have already arrived as keen bird watcher Dot Bleakley tells Anne Marie.

Ronan Lundy gets out into the fresh air and takes to the Antrim Hills with Cowper Lynas, an expert guide walker. He learns about the folklore of the area and takes in the stunning views of Murlough Bay, Rathlin and the Mull of Kintyre.

Saturday walkers can meet in the Londonderry Arms in Carnlough at 9am for the challenging walk and at 11am for the moderate walk. Sunday walkers canÌýmeet at Carnfunnock Park Visitor CentreÌýat 9am for the challenging walk and 10.30am for the moderate walk.

The Tommy Makem Festival of Song finishes in style at Tossies Cottage in Derrynoose, with singing, storytelling and guests from Ireland, Scotland, America and England. John Makem, Tommy’s nephew will tell us about the man, the cottage and the day-long session that will take place.

This week a new book celebrates the unique village of Newtonbutler in Fermanagh. It's the result of the Lakeland Community Care Living Memory Project and a labour of love for Development Officer, Nikki McVeigh, who’ll tell us about the place and the book.
