Tim and Deborah Dovey
Property series. Joe meets Tim and Deborah Dovery, who plan on turning a Shropshire farm house which was empty for 16 years into a large, modernised family home.
Joe Crowley offers invaluable advice for viewers looking to rescue a house for themselves and finds out more about our housing stock, our heritage and why we should be both reinventing and preserving Britain's Empty Homes. The show features ambitious renovations and inspirational transformations, but also highlights the work carried out by the UK's Empty Property Officers, whose job it is to get unoccupied homes back into use.
In this episode, Joe meets Tim and Deborah Dovey in Shropshire, who have bought a derelict farm house which has been empty for over 16 years. They are keen to share their plans to dramatically modernise and extend the property into a large family home - and to get as much guidance as they can. To give Tim and Deborah tips and inspiration, Joe introduces them to a man who has successfully renovated a large barn into a spacious and modern house.
In Stoke, Joe learns how the restoration of a large traditional local pottery is helping to kickstart the regeneration of the empty streets and homes around it. Also this episode, Empty Property Officer Iain Cobby continues his mission to save abandoned houses in Shepway, Kent.
