Generations of biographers, novelists and filmmakers have imagined and re-imagined the life of Anne Boleyn and her complicated relationship with Henry the Eighth.听 Even before Anne鈥檚 execution Henry set about erasing all physical traces of her 鈥� destroying her letters and portraits 鈥� yet ironically she enjoys the kind of immorality not granted to his other wives.听听 Dr Susan Bordo鈥檚 book The Creation of Anne Boleyn attempts to unravel the facts from the myths about Henry鈥檚 tragic queen, and she joins Sheila McClennon to explain why when we know so little about Anne, so much has been written about her.听

To women of a certain age the symptoms of the menopause can become 听depressingly familiar: 听hot flushes, night sweats, and often听 that鈥檚 just the half of it. A听 lucky few听 will escape scot听 free, most of us will probably brace ourselves for听 some symptoms at some stage but how many of us 听expect to still be getting听 sweats and flushes in 听our sixties and beyond..? Sheila talks to Diana Gaines, a sufferer in her seventies, and to Dr Jane Woyka who specialises in advising and听 treating women on the听 menopause.

The Democratic Republic of Congo听 has been labelled by the UN as the 鈥榬ape capital of the world.鈥櫶鼳 study published in the American Journal of Public Health in the summer of 2011 found that 1,152 women are raped in DCR every day 鈥� a rate of 48 per hour. It鈥檚 estimated听 that 12% of the country鈥檚 female population has been raped at least once.听听Sex abuse is growing and not just in conflict zones where typically it has been used as a weapon of war. Domestic rape is on the increase and sexual violence laws introduced in DRC in 2006 are said to have had limited impact.听听But a new project 鈥� known as Wababa 鈥� has been focussing on men [via a 12-week programme] and helping them address their attitudes towards masculinity and violence towards women. The 12-week course is designed to get to the root of sexual violence by focussing on the perpetrators in order to create culture change.听 Kati Whitaker went to visit听the project.
