A government commissioned report has identified a large swathe of Scotland covering the central belt and much of the borders and Fife for shale gas exploration. The Department for Energy and Climate Change publication says that more than half the UK could be suitable for 'fracking' and the industry could create thousands of jobs and inject almost 拢1billion into local communities.
