Magazine for the deaf community. See Hear catches up with 10-year-olds Aidan and Arnie and finds out how they are doing, five years after the programme first met them.
See Hear revisits pupils Aidan and Amie. The programme has been following them through their different paths through the school system since the age of five, and this looks at how they are doing now they are aged ten.
Last time, Aidan was struggling with speech dyspraxia but he has now caught up and, following a second cochlear implant, his hearing has also improved. Amie has likewise requested a second cochlear implant herself and her schoolwork has also gone from strength to strength. Yet whilst Aidan feels most at home in the deaf community and enjoys social activities such as being in a rock band, Amie is more comfortable in the hearing world, though she still uses signs at home.
