Dougie Vipond puts on his skis and takes to the slopes at Cairngorm and Glencoe to look at the history and development of the skiing industry in Scotland. He meets some of the early pioneers and examines how much the industry has grown in the last hundred years.

Euan McIlwraith has exclusive access to a new report which compares the economic benefit of sheep farming and forestry in upland areas. The controversial report produced by the Timber industry body CONFOR is bound to spark a heated debate about land use in Scotland鈥檚 upland areas.

Nick Nairn and Dougie Vipond take their mobile food van in to the heart of Edinburgh to cook some new season Blackface lamb. Scots traditionally eat much less lamb than people in England and Wales and sales have generally been falling across the UK. Lamb is viewed as more expensive than chicken and pork and there is a perception that it has a fatty taste. Nick cooks some Blackface lamb chops and attempts to convince the Edinburgh public to fall in love with lamb again.

Euan gets a unique insight into the elusive Pinemartens when he joins a research project in Glenmore Forest Park. The project involves trapping Pinemartens and fitting them with GPS tags to enable researchers to learn more about their movements and habitats. The long term aim is to reintroduce Pinemartens to England where they were wiped out by persecution.

Dougie meets one of Scotland鈥檚 greatest female adventurers. Myrtle Simpson was born in Hampshire but fell in love with the Mountains when she started work as a Radiographer at Belford Hospital in Fort William. Her passion led to a lifetime of adventures in the Arctic, China and South America. She was also one of the founders of the early Scottish Ski Centres and went on to become Chair of the Scottish National Ski Council.
