Frontline Families

Newsround meets British families who have been changed by war and hears from children who have dealt with years of separation, disabilities and bereavement.

2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I and also sees our last combat soldier leave Afghanistan. As the soldiers come home, Newsround meets today's frontline families who have been changed by war. We hear from the children who have dealt with years of separation, disabilities and bereavement. The cameras are there to see the emotional homecoming of the 617 Squadron as they reunite with their families, in this frank insight into being a child in a frontline family.
