Episode 6
Cookery competition. The celebrities are sent outside the relative safety of the MasterChef kitchen and into the highly-pressured world of mass catering.
The heat continues as the four remaining celebrities battle for a place in the semi-finals.
Their first challenge is a knowledge and skills test, where the celebrities have the terrifying task of facing judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace one by one and demonstrating their ability to identify a tray of ingredients - six different types of syrups and sugars - before being asked to make an American pancake stack with maple syrup and bacon in just 15 minutes.
Then the celebrities are sent outside the relative safety of the MasterChef kitchen and into the highly-pressured world of mass catering. Split into pairs, the celebrities have to be on top of their game to successfully cater lunch for 120 hungry staff members of the Wellcome Trust, the UK's largest charity. With ingredients including beef steak, chicken breasts and a range of fruit and vegetables, the teams must prepare meat-based, vegetarian and dessert dishes in just two and a half hours. In the heat of the kitchen the celebrities must keep their cool and rely on teamwork and skill more than ever if they want to triumph.
Then it's back to MasterChef headquarters for the last challenge in a bid to earn a place in the semi-finals. The four celebrities must now cook a faultless two-course meal that will not only be judged by John and Gregg but also past Celebrity MasterChef champions in the shape of current title holder Ade Edmondson (2013) and previous finalists Les Dennis (2013) and Christine Hamilton (2010) who know exactly what standards they expect.
