Our first stop today is Killinchy in County Down where Diana Gleadhill lives. It’s not her home that we’re interested in however, rather everywhere else she’s been. For the last twenty years or so Diana has travelled to strange and unusual places, in strange and unusual ways. ÌýAll along she’s kept a diary of her adventures which has now been published in a book called Waterborne.ÌýÌý

This month marks a year since the death of Seamus Heaney. Last September Radio Ulster dedicated a whole weekend to celebrating the life of the great poet. Conor McKay went along to meet Barney Devlin, the blacksmith who inspired the poem “The Forge."

Last week Helen Mark headed to Ballymully Cottage to see how things were shaping up for the Stendhal Festival of Art. Helen meets up with festival founder John Cartwright to hear about the music, the art, and hijacking the family farm.ÌýÌýÌýÌý

A few months back Ronan Lundy went to the Strand Beach in Portstewart to meet poet Cherry Smyth ahead of the launch of her first novel. Next we’re talking about The Ardboe Poet.

When father and daughter Jack Adair and Pauline Burton decided to trace their family history they were amazed to discover a poet in the family tree. Anne-Marie met them at the impressive Ardboe High Cross to hear about the man they discovered and the work they’ve been putting in to make sure he’s remembered.

The book is called The Ardboe Poet - the poetry of John Coleman - 1855 - 1938 Ìýit’s available on Amazon and Sheehy’s bookstore in Cookstown.

Out to Camlough, County Armagh now. It’s a busy stretch of water near Bessbrook and the slopes of the Ring of Gullion. Every year they have a great lake swim and festival, coming up later in the month – local man Padraig Mallon challenges Marie McStay to jump in.ÌýÌý
