Ten medals will be won on a busy evening of athletics in Zurich's Letzigrund Stadium, amongst them both the men's and women's 200m and 400m.
The men's 400m final is the first race on the track, the one-lap event rarely fails to deliver in excitement. Christine Ohuruogu, Britain's 400m world champion and former Olympic champion, has surprisingly never won a European Championship medal.
Among the other gold medals on offer are those in the men's 800m and 400m hurdles, as well as the women's 1500m and heptathlon.
