It鈥檚 got to be one of the most enduring and celebrated dance partnerships of recent time. Their relationship has outlasted most marriages and now to mark听 their fortieth year of working together, ice dance听听 champions Torvill and Dean have co-written a听 second听听听 autobiography 鈥極ur Life On Ice鈥�. Jayne Torvill talks to Jenni about her career and the challenge of balancing the professional and personal partnerships in her life and what it鈥檚 like to have more than one 鈥榦ther half鈥�.听

Ten years ago we reported on the house in Manchester where Elizabeth Gaskell lived - and where she wrote most of her novels.听 For many years it was used as a centre for overseas students at the university, but in 2004 the Manchester Historic Buildings Trust acquired it and now - after a decade of renovation - they鈥檝e opened it to the public.听听Judy Merry has been back to the house with Janet Allan from the Trust and Marion Barter who鈥檚 a buildings historian - to see how the building has changed.

The UK government is investing 拢35 million into a new Africa-led movement to end Female Genital Mutilation in one generation. The funding will run until 2019 and represents the largest investment by any government ever into tackling FGM. 听The campaign called, 鈥榠s launched in Nairobi in Kenya today. Its focus is on ten African countries where it aims to 听听instigate听听 advocacy initiatives which will drive social and behavioural change. 听Thirty million girls across Africa are estimated to be at risk of FGM over the next decade. 听Lynne Featherstone, Minister for International Development, joins Jenni to explain how the money will be used and why she believes it will make a difference.
