Worlds without End: Changing Knowledge, Changing Reality

Episode 10 of 10

James Burke reviews his classic 80s series about the development of western science and explores what we mean by knowledge.

The final programme in Brian Cox's selection offers another chance to see the last episode in the 1985 classic series The Day the Universe Changed.

Written and presented by James Burke, it reviews the entirety of this classic series, looking at the many theories which have been disproved thanks to the discovery of new knowledge. The programme closes by posing a philosophical question: what is knowledge? Is it only what we make it? Is all discovery merely invention?
