Tom chats to Dexy's enigmatic frontman Kevin Rowland.
Dexy's Midnight Runners formed in Birmingham in 1978 and by 1980 their form of soulful pop had gained them their first of 2 number ones with Geno. They had 2 big selling albums off the back of the singles success, but they struggled with the 3rd album Don't Stand Me Down, which didn't match previous successes when finally released in 1985. The band split the following year.
They reformed in 2003 with 3 original members and a shortened name and released the 4th album One Day I'm Going To Soar in 2012. They release a live DVD Nowhere Is Home next week.
