Last week we heard the story of Frances McCloskey, young airman from Ballymoney who was tragically killed in 1942 in the Netherlands. His memory was all but lost here as his name had never appeared on the war memorial in Ballymoney, amazingly though, listening in to the story was 87 year old Patricia McCloskey from Limavady, she phoned in to tell us that Frances was her first cousin. This week Anne-Marie caught up with Patricia and her sister Alice to hear more about Frances.

Also on the show this week there are some special sheep with an interesting backstory, Jacob鈥檚 Sheep are a breed that Paul Colhoun and 11 year old budding shepherd Alex Colhoun are very fond of, as Anne-Marie found out when she went to meet them all in a field in Gortin, County Tyrone.

This time of year marks the old Celtic festival Samhain. Samhain is the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winder, the darker half of the year.听Kathleen O'Hara Farren is a woman from Greencastle听with a keen interest in folklore and natural education, she's on the show to tell us more about Samhain.

Slaughtaverty

We鈥檙e talking legends as well today, a quite blood thirsty one at that. There鈥檚 a grave or Dolmen in a place called Slaughtaverty near Garvagh and Dungiven, which is said to belong to a tyrant dwarf and magician. He wasn鈥檛 a very well liked character, Conor McKay met legend and lore expert Bob Curran at the Dolmen to find out why.
