In the next part of our series on historic sexual abuse and assault, we look into abuse that has taken place in children鈥檚 homes and other public institutions.聽Jenni聽hears from Marni Mulholland who, in her memoir Raw, describes the abuse she suffered as a 14 year-old in a residential care home.聽Jenni also speaks to the Chief Executive of the Who Cares? Trust, Natasha Finlayson, and to Simon Hattenstone, a Guardian journalist who has taken part in investigations into institutional abuse.

Audre Lorde called herself a 鈥渂lack, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet鈥�. Born in New York in 1934 to parents originally from the West Indies, Lorde was a pioneer of the black feminist movement, and focused specifically on the ways in which sexism, racism and homophobia combined to preclude black lesbians like herself from being part of 鈥渕ainstream鈥� second-wave feminism 鈥� then dominated by white women such as Betty Freidan. To mark Black History Month, Jenni is joined by fellow poet and friend of Lorde, Jackie Kay, to discuss her life and legacy.

The World Economic Forum鈥檚 Gender Gap Report published this week ranked the UK 26th out of 142 countries. On the representation of women in parliament, the UK performed even worse, coming in at number 63. In fact, there are more male MPs now than the total number of female MPs ever. So how can we make politics more representative? In Ireland, they will have gender quotas for the first time at their next elections. And in Scotland there are calls for similar rules to be introduced. Jenni speaks to Irish academic and campaigner Fiona Buckley and Labour MSP Kezia Dugdale about the pros and cons of quotas.
