Rajan Datar takes a tour of China to explore the country's rapid pace of change. First stop, Shanghai and a trip up to the 101st floor of the Shanghai Tower, which when completed will be the tallest building in China. But not for long, the next one is on the way.

On to Xian, home of the terracotta army, and where showcasing ancient history has become big business. But giant pandas are the big draw in Chengdu, some 600km south west of Xian. Rajan meets some baby pandas at the research base where the endangered species are bred.

Rajan's final destination is the boom town Hefei, once a sleepy backwater, now a modern powerhouse indicative of the breakneck speed of change across the country.
