James Martin invites Helen Skelton back to Kirkby Thore, the Cumbrian village she grew up in, to find out who lives there now.

It's a trip down memory lane for Helen as she remembers how the community spirit thrived in the village when she was a child. Together, she and James meet the locals and set up an in-person social network in a campaign designed to tackle the growing issue of loneliness in the UK.

Britain is one of the loneliest places to live in Europe and James sets out to discover the causes and possible solutions. He finds out that rural Britain can be a very lonely place to live and meets a young mum who finds it hard to make new friends in the village.
