Jonathan Sutherland introduces highlights of the weekend's action in the SPFL.

Having taken top spot in the Premiership over the festive period, Aberdeen faced Dundee at Pittodrie knowing that victory over the Dens Park side would see them at the top of the table this weekend. For their part, Celtic had the chance to put pressure on Derek McInnes's side in the early Saturday kick-off against Hamilton. At the other end of the table, the sides who have been occupying the bottom two slots for the majority of the season meet in Dingwall as St Mirren travel north to face Ross County.

In the battle for top six places, St Johnstone face Partick Thistle, Motherwell play Kilmarnock and Jackie McNamara will be hoping for greater consistency from his Dundee United side as they play host to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. There's also Championship action from Friday's top-of-the-table clash between Rangers and Hearts and Saturday's clash between Hibs and Cowdenbeath.
