Series in which families try out life overseas. A single mum has to choose between financial security and keeping her family together.

Single mum Liz has an incredibly close bond with her three children but is fed up struggling to make ends meet in the UK. She believes Australia could offer her family a brighter future, but there's a problem. Moving down under would mean splitting her close-knit family up for good because as eldest daughter Alice wants to stay in the UK.

When a trial week living in Melbourne shows Liz and her younger children Jack and Mo just how Australia could benefit the family, they're left with a heartbreaking decision. Do they stay in the UK and keep their family together, or do they emigrate down under and leave their daughter and sister behind?

The Power family returned to the UK determined Australia was the place for them, but a move has been temporarily put on hold.

Since returning to the UK, the family have moved to a much smaller, cheaper property, lowering their outgoings. Liz has also left the NHS and started teaching student nurses clinical skills at the local university. Also teaching in primary and secondary schools, she aims to double her earnings this year.聽 Liz hopes the money gained will help towards a possible move to Australia in the future.

Jack came home and secured 11 GCSEs and is now studying for his A levels. He still dreams of travelling to Australia. Mo is about to do her GCSEs but has already been offered a place in a musical theatre school for September. She鈥檚 due to complete studies there in the summer of 2016, when the family will look into the possibility of moving down under.聽 Alice has settled well and is happy in university studying illustration. She has said a visit down under is a possibility should the rest of the family decide to make the move.
