Sgiathan Dubha/Black Wings

Documentary examining the obstacles faced in 20th-century America by those African Americans whose dream it was to fly.

Th脿inig iad uile 脿 diofar bhailtean, 脿 diofar amannan ann an eachdraidh, agus fhuair iad diofar she貌rsaichean togail, ach bha aon mhiann aig a h-uile duine aca - sg猫ith. Agus bha an t-aon chnap-starra romhpa cuideachd - b' ann dubh a bha iad san fhicheadamh linn ann an Ameireagaidh.

Ach a dh'aindeoin 's na bha nan aghaidh nan l脿, th脿inig miann m貌ran dhiubh gu buil. Tha m貌ran de dh' Ameireaganaich Afraganach air ainm a dh猫anamh dhaibh fh猫in san adhar - eadar a bhith nan gaisgich ann an cogaidhean, nam paidhleatan coimeirsealta, no nam 'barnstormers'. Tha na sgeulachdan aca mu dhiongbhaltas agus mu bhuadhachas, agus mun toileachas a fhuair iad 脿 sg猫ith.

They came from different backgrounds, different hometowns, and different eras. But they all had a similar dream - to fly. And they all had the same obstacle - being black in 20th century America. Despite the prejudice of the day, many made their dreams come true.

From early barnstormers to war heroes to commercial pilots, African Americans have an enduring legacy in the sky, and their stories are as much about persistence and triumph as they are about the exhilaration of flight.
