TRADITIONAL BLACKSMITH
Northern Ireland has a rich tradition of metalworking and for hundreds of years it was a job that was a vital part of community life. And today the spirit of the blacksmith lives on in the works of many talented art metalworkers. It will be celebrated at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum in a forge this Saturday 7th March. But to hear more, Anne Marie went along to meet Gerald Monaghan hard at work.Â
FERMANAGH A STORY IN 100 OBJECTS
Fermanagh County Museum is selecting 100 artefacts to tell the story of Fermanagh’s rich heritage. This is a new project about Fermanagh from pre-historic times right up to now and the notion is to shape the future for Enniskillen Castle Museums. Anne Marie went to meet Catherine Scott, access Officer, at the town hall doors in Enniskillen.Â

PORTRUSH FILM THEATRE
Recently launched, is a group of film lovers who are about promoting a greater appreciation and enthusiasm for film culture. Portrush Film Theatre launched its 2015 season recently with ‘Pride’ and coming up soon will be ‘Belle’ on Monday 23rd March. Ronan Lundy went along to meet the founding members, Ted Barker and Joan Hunter at the historic building he hadn’t been in since the 1970s.Â
LANDSCAPE SAFARI
A uniquely special landscape whose volcanic characteristics will be highlighted in a special tour of Cooley and Gullion this weekend. There’s a landscape safari bus that tours through the twin volcanic centres of Cooley and Gullion. And to tell us more is Geologist Siobhan Power, joined by Anne Marie.Â
