Alan Springer has been yearning to return to his native paradise for fifty years. But Alan's British wife Amanda has huge emotional ties at home in London, with key responsibilities for her elderly mother. For their teenage son Sekani, leaving his lifelong pals and young nephew would mean massive sacrifices too. During a week-long trial in Alan's Caribbean homeland, Barbados, can he convince Amanda and Sekani that a new life on a tropical island is worth the heartache?

Alan has recently been on another fact finding mission to Barbados, and had a follow up meeting with the Minister of education. He hopes the family will move to Barbados this summer.
