Tens of thousands of trees on farms are at risk across Wales according to as EU regulations mean clusters of trees will be ineligible for the 'Basic Payment'. Farmers say they could loose thousands of pounds.
A loss to Rural healthcare in Mid Wales .... there are plans to re-establish the Institute of Rural Health in England. It was based in Newtown but had to close earlier this year. One of it's founders, Dr John Wynne Jones says it's a loss to the region and at a time when there is a crisis in rural healthcare with GP shortages for example but they didn't get the support to fulfill the ambition of developing an academic centre in Wales.
The Ffridd - lying between the managed lowlands and uplands in Wales it's an important habitat in the Welsh countryside. However, protecting it is difficult due to it occurring in small patches in scattered places. So the and Natural Resources Wales have been working together to try and help landowners protect this distinctive yet often overlooked element of the Welsh landscape.
