Maritime Fun
The Strangford Lough Maritime Festival continues this weekend, celebrating the unique coastline spanning the Ards Peninsula, Strangford Lough and the Lecale District. The festival offers a host of activities for everyone to get involved in, such as learning about bio-energy, trying some local seaweed, seal watching, honing your skills in the armoury, or even learning how to whip up a medieval dish in the medieval cooking class. Anne Marie hears from Caroline Nolan, one of the organisers of the festival, and John Murray, who will be taking tours across Strangford Lough over the weekend in his handcrafted boat.

Blessingbourne Biking
Close to Fivemiletown in County Tyrone, lies Blessingbourne House. Overlooking Lough Fadda, it is surrounded by yew trees, rhododendrons and a gravel terrace. Built upon 550 acres of parkland in the 1870s by the Lowry Family, it has some of the best cycling trails in the country, as Conor McKay finds out first hand.
For more information you can call Blessingbourne Estate on 02889521188 or email info@blessingbourne.com
Ballintoy Hidden History
The Ballintoy area on the north coast is one of the most spectacular places in the country. Its shore, dotted with chalk caves, limestone cliffs, an abundance of altars and standing stones are cherished by the people in The Archaeological and History Society in the area. Anne Marie and Vice-Chairman of the society Robert Corbett took a trip to explore the mysterious church at Templestragh.

Dennis Sweeney
Dennis Sweeney was a talented fiddle player who made his home in County Antrim. He taught the fiddle to hundreds, if not thousands of people, and inspired many more across the globe with his playing. Originally from Derrytrasna in County Armagh, he lived in Belfast for a while before settling in Randalstown. It鈥檚 there where Pat McKay, who knew him for years, is helping to organise The Dennis Sweeney Tribute Day in his honour.
The tribute day will take place in O鈥橩anes Bar and the Arches Community centre on Saturday the 13th of June, with music lessons commencing from 10AM.
Bringing Back The Bells
At the foot of Slieve Martin on the coast of Carlingford Lough is the village of Rostrevor in County Down. St Bronach鈥檚 Parish Church on the village square once had a great tradition of bell ringing, however, the bells have been silent for the last ten years. Just recently, a small group of locals decided it was time for the bells to start ringing again. Marie McStay聽took to the bell tower to聽get a crash course in campanology聽from聽some of those behind the revival.
