Great Britain's Fran Halsall is vying to at least replicate her bronze medal in the 50m freestyle at the last World Championships, when she was the only Briton to earn a podium finish. A 10-time national champion in the event, Halsall is coming back into top form after a shoulder problem.

Halsall could also be in medal contention in the women's 4x100m medley relay, while Hannah Miley is among the favourites in the 400m individual medley - an event in which she won silver four years ago.
