Battle of Britain 75
Commemorating the Battle of Britain, seventy five years on.聽 Tourism Manager with Ards and North Down Borough Council Sharon Mehaffey speaks to Anne Marie McAleese from Ards Airfield.聽 Newtownards will take on a distinctly 1940's feel when the Battle of Britain 75 event takes place at the airfield this weekend.聽 The commemorative event will recreate the sounds of the 40's, with a jazz picnic, a vintage fair and a finale flypast.聽聽聽
The Faerie Thorn
Bushmills, Murlough Bay, Banagher Glen and Dunseverick Harbour - places where fairy queens, enchanted forests, sly trolls and evil witches live - at least in the mind of writer Jane Talbot from Ballymoney.聽 She joins Anne Marie McAleese to talk about her new book 'The Faerie Thorn and other Stories' which is being launched next week at the Aspects Festival in Bangor.
Lawn Tennis in Omagh
Between the Camowen and Drumragh rivers, just off the Campsie road in Omagh, a place where they've been playing tennis and holding tournaments for over a hundred years, since 1907.聽 Omagh Lawn Tennis club is still on the original site but has a new clubhouse and all weather courts, Joan Conaghan and Edwin Johnston have been club and committee members for years and at the Championships during the summer, told Conor McKay more about why they know and love Tyrone's answer to Wimbledon so well.
