Masood worries when he hears of Jane's intentions. A familiar face returns to Albert Square. Ronnie resorts to desperate measures.

Jane calls Ian asking to speak to Bobby. As she hangs up, she addresses an envelope to Ian. Jane applies lipstick before anxiously removing it – it’s clear she has no idea how to prepare for the day ahead. Masood makes his way into the Beales’ to find Jane smartly dressed. When Masood asks Jane for lunch, she admits she’s heading to court as a witness for Max. Masood asks to accompany Jane but she firmly tells him that she has to do it on her own. Jane finds Lauren in the Square Gardens and hands over her letter for Ian, asking Lauren to make sure that he gets it. Whitney finds a distracted Lauren at the Butchers’, turning Jane’s letter over in her hands.

When Lauren opens the envelope and reads the card, she bolts out of the door, asking Whitney to take care of Louie. A visibly nervous Jane is summoned into court. The court is stunned when Marcus Christie calls Max’s final defence witness and Jane appears. As Jane takes an oath, she locks eyes with Max. Marcus questions Jane on her movements on the night of Lucy’s death. Jane explains she was staying with Masood and that she and Lucy had argued about Lucy’s drug-taking. Jane goes on to state that after the row, she went to see Max at the car lot, thinking he’d understand. When Marcus Christie purports that unless Jane was with Max all night then she cannot vouch for his whereabouts, Jane, in front of a suddenly-entered Lauren, claims that she and Max slept together...

Sonia questions whether Robbie’s been honest about why he’s come to visit. Carol maintains that he just wants to visit his family. Carol tells Robbie how proud of him she for being so successful, before telling Sami she’s going to spend some quality time with him finally. Sonia walks in on Robbie rifling underneath the bar in the living room and questions his motives – he pulls out Wellard’s collar and claims that he’s promised Sami a new dog. When Sami rushes in and asks to call his mum, Robbie shiftily avoids the question and instead suggests that they and Sonia head to the park. In the park, Sonia badgers Robbie further to admit why he’s really back. Robbie purports that Sonia’s just jealous that he’s made something of himself. As Sonia heads to apologise to Robbie for her earlier comments, she’s astounded to find him rifling through her purse.

Ronnie bumps into Roxy, who struggles to understand how Ronnie can act so normal after breaking Charlie. Ronnie suggests that it’s good that Charlie’s been left with nothing; he brought it on himself. Ronnie invites Dot to the seaside with her and Matthew, but Dot declines, declaring she’s worried about Matthew being caught in the middle of Ronnie and Charlie. Ronnie’s shocked when Dot moves aside to reveal Charlie in the living room. Dot attempts to reconcile the pair – Charlie asks for space and promises that he’ll deal with the situation. Alone with Ronnie, Charlie spits that he wants her nowhere near Matthew – she’s poisonous.

Ronnie brands Charlie weak and pathetic but Charlie states that she can’t hurt him anymore; he can see her for what she really is. When Charlie calls Ronnie a murderer, she begs him to stop and admits defeat. Ronnie leaves, telling Charlie to spend some time with Matthew, before agreeing that all the fighting ends now. In Patrick’s house, Ronnie assures Vincent that she wants Charlie gone. Charlie crosses Roxy on Bridge Street and angrily tells her to stay away – he believed that they had a future together. Roxy apologises but it falls on deaf ears. Dean has clocked the whole exchange and is unimpressed and later riles Roxy by asking if she’s sleeping with Charlie again.

Roxy’s surprised when Ronnie walks by and is aware that Charlie’s back, claiming she’s dealing with it. Ronnie finds Dot in the café and apologises for involving her in her issues with Charlie. As Dot accepts, Ronnie swipes Dot’s keys from her handbag. As Charlie plays with Matthew, he’s shocked at the appearance of Ronnie and Vincent. Later, Claudette is surprised that Vincent’s already changed his clothes. Vincent mysteriously purports that there was a problem – but it’s sorted. As Masood empties the bin outside the cafe, he finds Charlie’s wallet and hands it over to Roxy. Roxy asks Ronnie outright where Charlie is – Ronnie merely states that he’s gone.

Kim joins Denise in heading to Lucy’s trial – she’s more interested in watching the drama unfold than anything else. Masood overhears Kim running a sweepstake over who Lucy’s murderer is and Masood vocalises his disapproval.
