One of the leading jazz trumpeters in Britain in the post war years was Freddy Randall. His career falls into two periods because he was forced to retire for some years due to lung problems. Jazz Club features a new CD which demonstrates his importance before and after the break.

Derek Nash, a qualified sound engineer and record producer is also a phenomenal saxophonist on all the instruments in this musical family. He demonstrates this on his new album with his acoustic quartet which is also featured in the programme.
