Winter Special

The hairy bikers travel to an area that has been under-represented on cookery shows: the North of England. Also featuring Dave's ice-skating Abba tribute.

The hairy bikers travel to an area that has been under-represented on cookery shows: the North of England. Cumbrian Dave shows Si Mrs. Green's pie shop and Si takes Dave to Newcastle's fish quay.

Along the way there is the story of Dave's first flight off the top of his dad's wall (two broken thumbs), a surprisingly vibrant Thai community in Askham, air-dried hams and Roman bread, and a tussle with Si's mum over her precious recipe book. At least they find time to try some local fun at the ice rink - Dave in lurex doing his Abba tribute is a sight to behold...

And there is a lot to cook along the way; a proper Lancashire hotpot at Bury Market, chicken breast stuffed with Cumberland sausage on the top of the Pennines, a pigeon breast salad with bacon and black pudding, the ultimate fish pie and much, much more.
