Fertility campaigners say they are extremely concerned by recent decisions taken by Mid Essex and North-East Essex clinical commissioning groups to stop offering IVF treatment for women who are struggling to conceive. Speaking on the programme is Dr Amanda Doyle, practising GP and co-chair of NHS Clinical Commissioners, and Sarah Norcross, co-chair of campaign group Fertility Fairness.

The Electoral Commission has advised the House of Lords to vote against government plans on Tuesday to speed up the process of changing how voters register themselves, moving from a system of household registration to individual registration. The US Secretary of State, John Kerry, has begun a round of diplomacy aimed at reducing tensions in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories where an upsurge of violence has left around 60 people dead in the last month or so. Our Middle East correspondent, Kevin Connolly, has been talking to Palestinians and Israelis about their fears.

It was announced yesterday that up to £9m is to be made available to help support steelworkers hit by the latest round of job cuts at a plant in Scunthorpe. Alun Davies worked at the Llanwern steelworks as a caster until 2001 and is now the regional organiser for the Community Union for Steelworkers in Port Talbot and Trostre. Joining Mr Davies is Mike Cole, former crane driver at Thamesteel in Kent, who after 40 years lost his job in 2012 when it shut down.
