Anne Marie Mcaleese visits Portadown, in County Armagh where the People's Park has never looked better - thanks to a huge transformation that's taken place there in the last 18 months or so.聽 It's an amazing green space in the middle of the bustling, busy town - and one that Parks Development Oficer, Michael Ruddy says, has a long history.聽

To the city of Lisburn and Christ Church cathedral, where the story starts over 300 years ago, when many Hugenot families from france fled their own country to escape persecution.聽 Here they helped with the successful development of the linen industry and there are memorials to some of the families in the church yard - which, had it not been for the work of Lisburn Memorials Trust, might have been lost forever.聽 Anne Marie McAleese chats to Finny O'Sullivan, who is fascinated by these Ulster French links and knows the history well.

With the success of Children in Need this year, Marie McStay heads to County Down to speak to Stick Fingers Arts Group Co-ordinator, Grainne Powell.聽 With all the money raised from here going to projects here, like the one led by Sticky Fingers Art, Marie heads to Slieve Gullion Forest聽Park, where the most ambitious children's arts project commissioned in Northern Ireland is situated, 聽the brand new Giant's Lair, which will help younsters at school and with self esteem.聽 It's a聽magical living storybook, with a nature trail featuring dragons, giants, witches and fairies.聽
