John Craven visits one of Britain’s grandest stately homes, Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, as staff prepare to welcome more than 100,000 Christmas visitors

June Brown

June’s character, Dot, first appeared on 4th July 1985 and she has become one of the series’ best loved characters. Before Eastenders she played many roles on stage, film and television including parts in Dr Who, The Duchess of Duke Street and The Bill.

In this interview she talks about her faith and how it has influenced the character of Dot in Eastenders.

After more than 50 years of entertaining the world, brothers Jimmy, Merill and Jay explain how their devout Mormon faith has kept them grounded throughout their career.

Jimmy says:Ìý ‘It’s saved us from so many pitfalls which so many of our peers have unfortunately encountered. It started in church and that will always be where our heart is.’

The brothers also reveal what Christmas really means to the Osmonds. ‘It’s about our saviour to begin with and we as brothers and as a family understand where it all comes from.’
