Georgian Terrace
Amateur designing competition. The designers work on a Georgian terrace in Bath. One designer answers their brief with ingenious architectural furniture designs.
In the second round of this heat, the three remaining designers are working for clients on a smart Georgian terrace in Bath, in a living room each. With views across the city, these are high-end homes, so the new look rooms come with high expectations, despite the fact the designers have just three days, 拢1,000 and a small team to help them with their projects.
One designer answers their no-holds-barred brief with ingenious architectural furniture designs, but with concerns over the pared-back wall colour, they have to pack enough punch with their orange accessories if they are going to impress. The second designer struggles to restrain their usual cluttered, chaotic style in order to deliver a sophisticated scheme fitting the Georgian room and satisfy their exacting client's standards. Meanwhile, the final designer attempts to nail a sumptuous, Parisian scheme on a tight budget. However, sanding the floors throws up some unexpected issues and threatens the look of the whole scheme.
Presenter and architectural historian Tom Dyckhoff looks into the story of this well-to-do Georgian terrace, while it will be the judges who decide which two designers will go through to the next round, and which one will leave the competition.
