Lights, Camera, Action!
How home movie-making became a cultural phenomenon. A look at some of the unsung heroes of Scottish cinema, who took home movie-making to a whole new level.
Narrated by Richard Madden, this four-part series is a warm and nostalgic look back at how home movie-making became a cultural phenomenon. From its beginnings in the 1920s as a new and exclusive hobby of the rich, to its heyday in the 60s and 70s when just about anyone could make a movie.
For some people, making these films became more than a hobby. In the final episode of the series, we discover another kind of home movie-making and meet some of the unsung heroes of Scottish cinema, who took home movie-making to a whole new level, pushing the boundaries of what was achievable with little more than a camera, a roll of film and a vivid imagination.
