A look inside the UK's only private maternity hospital. The hospital is put under pressure from the arrival of a footballer's wife and a wealthy family of considerable influence.
In the second episode of this series, the Portland Hospital is put under intense pressure from the arrival of the wife of a Premier League footballer and a wealthy family of considerable influence. Second-time Portland parents Bella and Leon, and Alison and Roger, return due to the first class medical care they know the Portland can offer them.
Half of the Portland's patients are able to take advantage of the services the Portland can offer because they are covered by medical insurance. Kinga and Nick are having their baby at the Portland as a benefit of Nick's job at the American Embassy in Morocco.
As well as delivering babies, the Portland is also known for its fertility expertise. Consultant Sarah Matthews, a fertility specialist, helps couples who are struggling to conceive. Patients Moza and her husband Ahmed have moved to London from Dubai to seek the Portland's fertility services as Moza undergoes treatment with an ovarian implant.
