Glacte sa Ghrèig

Tha còrr is 60,000 luchd-imrich is fògarraich fhathast glacte sa Ghrèig an dèidh aonta ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch a chaidh a shoidhnigeadh an-uiridh. Bha còir aig dùthchannan ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch an cuid aca fhèin a ghabhail de dh’fhògarraich à Siria, Iorac, is Eartra a tha feitheamh cead gluasad. Ach, tha nas lugha na 5000 air dachaigh ùr fhaighinn gu ruige seo. Tha dùthchannan ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ch air a bhith slaodach a’ cuir an sgeama an sàs, is chan eil Breatann a’ gabhail pàirt ann idir. Leis a sin, tha grunn fhògarraich is luchd-imrich glacte sa Ghrèig, a’ feitheamh ann an campaichean fad mhìosan. Tha fiù ‘s seann phàircean spòrs Oilimpigeach, seann champaichean làithean-saora, puirt-adhair, is taighean-bathair air cleachdadh ùr fhaighinn mar dhachannan re-ùine dha na deichean mhìltean a tha ag iarraidh gluasad orra. A bharrachd air sin, chan eil an sgeama fosgailte ach airson fògarraich às na trì dhùthchannan an ainmeachadh roimhe – tha ùine nas cugallaiche fiù ‘s air thoiseach air feadhainn a tha teicheadh bho fòirneart is dìol ann an dùthchannan leithid Afganastan. Tha cuid dhiubh sin ’s dòcha a thèid a chur air ais dha na dùthchannan às an tàinig iad. Tha Darren Linc an dèidh bhith tadhal air campaichean air feadh na Grèige, a’ bruidhinn ri iadsan tha fuireach unnta.

Trapped in Greece

Over 60,000 refugees remain trapped in Greece after a European deal was signed last year. The deal was supposed to see European countries each taking their share of refugees from Syria, Iraq and Eritrea who are currently awaiting relocation. However, fewer than 5000 have been relocated to date. European countries have been sluggish in implementing the deal, and Britain is exempt from it. This has led to many refugees and migrants being stuck in Greece, waiting for permission to move to western Europe, housed in refugee camps for months. Even some former Olympic stadia, airports, derelict holiday camps and warehouses have been adapted to house the thousand waiting to leave Greece. Additionally, the relocation scheme is only open to those fleeing war in the three aforementioned countries – those fleeing violence and persecution in countries such as Afghanistan face an even more uncertain future, with many facing deportation to their countries of origin. Darren Laing has visited refugee camps throughout Greece to speak to those living there.
