Bushmills Distillery have been in business for over 400 years, and for over a third of that, the Kane family from the village have been making the barrels that the whiskey is stored in. Chris Kane is the fourth generation of his family to cooper casks there, and the first person in Ireland to qualify as a cooper for more than 30 years.

About a century ago Railway Street in Antrim led to a weaving company, a blacksmiths, red bricked houses and a population of nearly 2000 people. But when the great war began in 1914, 100's of men and boys, from the town enlisted and many were killed. Local man Alvin McCaig has been researching these stories for his new book Antrim in the Trenches.
