Composer Jennifer Walshe presents the sound of American doomsday cults, imaginary Bollywood soundtracks, motivational cassettes and medieval minnesinger Neidhart von Reuental.

We round off our series of specials with Irish composer, thinker and vocal performer Jennifer Walshe. Fresh from winning the Innovation Award at the British Composer Awards, Walshe shares her interest in musical outsiders and sounds from outside the mainstream, including a substantial stash of motivational cassette tapes, Paraguayan dances for the beginning of the world, chants for the end of days by American doomsday cults and an excerpt from Robert Ashley's opera Improvement - all woven together with her razor-sharp knowledge of both contemporary composition and new electronic music.
