When couples divorce, separate or end civil partnerships subsequent discussions about the division of money and assets, like pensions, property and paying spousal maintenance can seem difficult to navigate and impossible to agree on. What should people do before, during and after a break-up? To what extent can being married, in a civil partnership or living together effect financial outcomes?
