We meet the queen of herbs, Jekka McVicar, as she builds a herb garden at the Malvern Show and join Carol Klein, Joe Swift and Frances Tophill as they bring us the best from the floral marquee and show gardens. And Adam Frost explains why he has chosen a rose as his golden jubilee plant.

Jekka鈥檚 Herbetum
The herbetum was created in the grounds of Jekka's Herb Farm in 2013, with the aim to inspire visitors and to ensure that the history, culinary and medicinal usage of herbs are not lost for future generations. It is a unique interactive experience for herb and plant lovers of all ages.
Displaying the largest collection of culinary herbs in the UK, it is not only a wonderful resource for plant identification, but also a gastronomic delight for anyone interested in good food. The Herbetum contains over 300 culinary herbs carefully planted in raised beds, enabling visitors to walk amongst not only British native herbs, but also the more unusual tropical varieties.

Peter Dowle
Howle Hill Nursery was formed by Peter Dowle in 1996 and currently employs over 20 people. Peter Dowle and the Howle Hill Nursery team have been awarded 2 Gold medals at the RHS Malvern show and 10 Gold Medals at Chelsea Flower Show, most recently for 'L'Occitane Garden' Chelsea 2016. Construction by Howle Hill Nursery and design by James Basson.
Peter studied Horticulture at Pershore College and has worked in private landscaping for over 25 years this has resulted in travel to Japan, Italy, Portugal, Corsica, Monaco and the Canary Islands to study and photograph plants and gardens in their native settings.
