With writer, producer and satirist Armando Iannucci

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie: rolling out the audio towel on the 6 Music rock and roll beach for you all afternoon. With comedy writer, director and producer Armando Iannucci.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie: rolling out the audio towel on that 6 Music rock and roll beach for you all afternoon. Their guest today is the comedy writer, director and producer Armando Iannucci. Armando's early work was the radio series On the Hour, which then transferred to television as The Day Today. A character from that series - which he co-wrote with fellow comedy writer Chris Morris - Alan Partridge, went on to feature in a number of television and radio programmes including Knowing Me, Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge. Armando's other well-known works include political sitcom The Thick of It as well as the spoof documentary Time Trumpet, and the satire Veep. He's here to chat about the 20th anniversary of the aforementioned Alan Partridge, so expect to hear something like those massive 6 Music hits, such as Cuddly Toy by Roachford and Gaudete by Steeleye Span. A-Haaaaa!

Plus there's also the trusty show staple The Chain - where you, the actual listener, get the chance to link one track to the one before AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T REPEAT - and Teatime Themetime, where you could gain instant VIP backstage passes to the office biscuit tin by being first to guess what connects all three records. PLUS there's Music News, with all the latest updates on what's happening in the music world. And all the new releases that float Mark or Stuart's musical paper boats!
