Hurricane Irma Causing Travel Chaos - Advice From The ABTA Expert

Mother Nature causes chaos from the Caribbean to Ballynahinch. Much like the fall out from the volcanic ash cloud in 2010 which grounded planes and affected travel world wide, over the past few weeks Hurricane Irma has caused devastation right across the Caribbean and the southern states of America. For many holiday makers, this meant taking the decision to travel into their own hands, paying for flights home, or deciding not to go on holiday. Doreen McKenzie spokesperson for the Association of British Travel Agents is live in studio with advice. We also hear from one family who are now 拢1900 out of pocket because of their decision not to travel to the storm ravaged Caribbean.

The local storm at the end of August that caused 1700 lightning strikes - for many the lights were out all night, for others in the Ballynahinch area, there were power fluctuations and we hear from Bob in Glassdrumman who explains how his TV and phones didn't work. Bob's question is...if it wasn't his fault why should he claim on his insurance - surely NI Networks should fork out?

And the last night of The Proms - the annual event last Saturday evening was a great success at Castle Coole...but not everyone was happy.
